Greetings to all the armchair travelers who revel in the exploits of others!
We're off on a Road Trip and hope you'll travel with us (again). It's encouraging to know someone is out there who cares about us and is keeping track of our whereabouts. (Other than the children who are named in the will.) As we are aging that seems to be more of a concern.
We'll be heading to Maine by way of New York and New Hampshire. We will then drive north along the coast to some of the Maritime Provinces - then west to the St. Lawrence River and back into the US (hopefully they'll let us back) and home through Vermont. All in 12 days! We haven't been to Maine, New Hampshire or beyond so we're excited!
Departure date is Wednesday September 21st at "first light" (Pa Ingalls' phrase). As Tour Director I am assuming that is the twilight period that begins approximately one half hour before the official sunrise, a time of day I am not familiar with but will strive to enjoy . (smile)
For those who followed last year's 4 week 9,000+miles cross country journey you will know the routine. The newest blog will be first - if you miss a day (or if want to read about last year's trip) you must scroll down on the right hand column where each day is listed in reverse order. Plain as mud.
Meanwhile, the "accumulating" has begun - binoculars, cameras (digital and the tried and true Olympus), film, new sunglasses (without scratches), new underwear (without holes - in case we're in an accident) and the medical kit with Imodium, because, as I have said many times - "you can crawl to the store when you have a cold but when you have the awful-awfuls .......".
This trip may call for cold climate clothing so the snuggies and gloves are being included too.
We are looking forward to the journey. Please join us whenever you can. Take out the Atlas and follow along!
Yours truly,
The Tour Director & Big Tom
(or, sometimes in stressful situations, lovingly referred to as "TheCaptain" ) ... (smile)
